Who we are

The Empire Test Pilots’ School (ETPS) was the first of its kind in the world. Established over 65 years ago, experience and knowledge in flight test is still gained from the real world testing of current military systems at Boscombe Down.

    ETPS Graduates are qualified to conduct experimental and development test flying programmes of airborne capabilities in accordance with international civil and military specifications.

      Aimed at military and civil pilots and engineers who are engaged in aircraft development, production and acceptance programmes for which they are required to plan, conduct and report on flight test activities within a cleared envelope.
